We had Year 2 into our classroom this morning. They have all been working really hard on a project about the Caribbean Islands and they came to share their knowledge. We really enjoyed what they had to share with us!
This week we have been thinking about all the different ways we can keep ourselves safe at the seaside. Matthew worked with Mrs Rendle this morning to draw all the things we need to do…. He took the class just before lunch to talk about all the things he found. He makes an excellent teacher!
Our connector for this term is the seaside… we have been looking at the history of the seaside and how it has changed over the years. We looked closely at entertainment in the past and present. One constant was the Punch and Judy shows. Here we are acting out our own versions of the popular seaside entertainment.
With the country gripped with election fever we decided to hold our own class election, with the winner given the opportunity to be teacher for the day! Each child was given the chance to present their ‘mini manifesto’ to the class and we then voted for our class teacher.
AND THE WINNER WAS… MAYA BLACKBURN!!
Maya gained 5 votes from the class and was our teacher for the day. She took the registers, set mini challenges throughout the day, organised play time activities and was in charge of the whistle. She made an excellent classroom teacher.
Well done Maya! 🙂
As part of our internet safety learning, Year 6 came down to teach us all about staying safe online. They gave us some handy tips to keep us away from online danger. We split into groups and, with the help of Year 6, created some amazing posters on internet safety and making smart choices.
We were really lucky to have the animal magic show come into school. We got to see lots of different animals and learn lots of information about them. We learnt where different animals come from, what they like to eat, how long they live and lots lots more.
Here are some pictures from our day with the Animal Magic Show…

Wow… this year has gone so quickly!
This half term we are learning all about the seaside. We will be sharing our experiences and seaside adventures, learning all about the history of the seaside and thinking about how activities have changed.
Our book focus this half term is ‘The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch’.
Yesterday morning, 1 Hall were lucky enough to spend the morning in the life bus. They learnt all about food and how different types of food effect our bodies. We looked at the different areas of the body and which nutrients are needed to keep them fit and healthy.
Teddy is all ready for dodgeball after school today. He looks very smart in his new Lytham Hall Park kit!
Everyone in 1 Hall made a huge effort for world book day! The children turned up as all sorts of different characters from many of their favourite books. In the afternoon we made bookmarks so we can use them in the books that we read.
Here we all are during guided reading today….
